Hello my fabulous readers, Just a quick update-- I'm about to enter into three weeks of purgatory. I'd say hell, but it isn't the official real-deal, exams. But they 30%, and imitate the finals. The big ones weigh 50%. Soooooo these are still pretty stressful. To add even more stress, my mother is going into to surgery, and at bed rest for 2 weeks straight. I'm also being called a retard and other various profanities by both my mother and brother-- so the home life's pretty hard right now. I uncovered my mother's diary last night, revealing a range of harmful thoughts she has of me. Fun. Really, my only escape is reading. Simple as that. I wish I had more time for it. But I have to study. Since I don't own a table and my family is too poor to afford anything else but the kitchen bar, I've been using that to study on. It's situated in between my mother and brother's room, so really I'm an open target during that time. It certainly doesn&

The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #5) by Rick Riordan 5/5 stars! What a great ending to the first series! I feel so emotionally exhausted after reading that. And to think, it was only within 2 weeks.  Now if you keep up with my reviews, you'd know that I mentioned how unfair it was in the previous book-- my emotions were all over the place. Percy had not one, not two, but three love interests that came out of nowhere??? Damn, Percy, cool it would ya?  Anyways, I can't believe I thought the last book was playing with my emotions- OH NO. THIS WAS FAR, FAR WORSE. 5 pages in and Rachel's already kissed him.  JUST WHEN I THOUGHT MY PERCABETH SHIP WAS SAILING. Whoever had the idea to include Rachel (as a love interest), needs to have a talk with me. They need to know how much this actually affected me while reading the book. Titan's Curse will come sometime soon, it just wasn't my favourite so I don't have much to write about.  The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #4) by Rick Riordan 4/5 stars! It would've been less but the Percabeth makes up for everything.  You really could see the gang growing up in this one. Especially Percy. Near the end when his dear ol' dad visited, I feared up, I felt proud for him. I feel like Percy is my child that I know deserves so much better.  So I loved my Percabeth for the first half of the book. (The second half was angsty af and I didn't expect that in Rick's books, the only time acceptable for angst is whenever Nico is there- NOT MY PERCABETH BBYS). But then not one, but two potential love interests rose to prominence.  A Miss. Rachel and Miss. Calypso.  I was not a fan. Rick can't play with my emotions like this! I would've read the first one, but my library doesn't have it. Only SOM and TC. So not only will Titan's Curse (the novel) be reviewed, but also the graphic novel. It was simply gorgeous! Beautiful design and I'm so glad it showed the best moments. If you found the movie a disappointment, read this! The colours are phenomenal! :) It made me realise how cute Annabeth is-- and it was nice to see some of the monsters. It's hard to get a clear image of mythical creatures!

The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #2) by Rick Riordan. 4/5 stars. The only reason this is not as high as the first rating is because it didn't have enough in it- I want more!!  This is such an awesome setting, it really makes the novels so loveable.  As I said, there was t a lot that happened in this books I there isn't much to say. Oh, except I was overloaded by the Percabeth feels. I know it's bad for me to since they're 12 or 13 now, but gosh damn I do. I could read about their adventures all day and find each of them charming and adorable.  I should mention that a few years ago I saw the movie version and now that I've read the book; I see how much of a disgrace the movie is. The story is completely different??? I don't understand how they changed it so much and still got the rights to name it after the second one. Tyson was eventually an enjoyable character. Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins 4/5 stars.  It wasn't actually that bad??? Despite the cliche plot and cover- it's actually got some awesome points in it that I didn't see coming! I'm pretty much going to skip over the whole Archer X Sophie drama. This was way to predictable and insta-love and for it to be taken seriously, it needed more depth to it. It did pretty well for such a short (320 paged) book. In general, I would've found this story way better if it were longer. It seems way to brief for the gory dramas occurring in the story.  Things I really love about this book - Lesbians are mentioned but it isn't a hue plot point (like at all nobody gives two hoots)  - Sophie's kindness to the few friends she has (completely admirable and relatable)  - How Sophie's mum is such a role model and fled from the crazy paranormal boyfriend like a REASONABLE PERSON.  - Spoiler for the following pointS: - How she didn't end up with he

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan  5/5 stars (thank god! Finally a book I love) Okay so maybe my 5 stars is a bit bias as I just finished and I'm so overwhelmed from the ending. The Evolution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #2) by Michelle Hodkin 3 stars max. The writing is ?????  It's kind of like reading a rated T fanfiction. You know, the ones written by two bored teen girls at a sleepover.  I hate lines that go like this; 'I did? "I did?", I say.' WHY?!?!? So many times in the book this happened.  I had to skip a lot of pages as it was just so boring. By the way, this book doesn't deserve 500+ pages. It could've been cut down far greater.  The ending was good, I thoroughly enjoyed that. Before the plot twist, I didn't think I was going to carry on reading this series.  Books like these give me hope that I can become a published writer someday. Their Fractured Light (Starbound #3) by Amie Kaufman 2.5 stars, and 3 max. I'm glad I never have to read this series again??? I'm not really sure why I put myself through this. I guess I kept point it would get better (to be fair, I did love the second book), but no. I really didn't find this book interesting to read so I can't really be bothered to write a review. Main thoughts: - a little too soap opera-like. Every chapter followed with; cause, character a and b discuss LRI, the end of the chapter finishes with one of the characters saying 'if only the other character knew this big secret about me'.
